Meeting 1.0: 23.04.2015
During our first meeting, after setting up the team for PickUsUp, we were working on our Business Model, displayed in the Business Canvas. Based on the initial draft obtained during class, we worked towards a more complete canvas while also questioning all of our assumptions. This led us to create a second target segment: Initially, we wanted to deliver our service to young people who spontaneously decide to have a drink with friends after they went somewhere with their car. But we realized that it may also be an interesting option for families who want to go out for dinner together and enjoy the evening by sharing a bottle of wine. Since they are in need of having their car the next morning for family needs, they would like to go back to their place in their car and can use our service to do so. Apart from adding another target segment, we also added aspects to our partners (payment processor), customer relationships (Trust as a basis.) and the used channels (scooter design to be used for higher recognition) and rephrased our value proposition. The Canvas Business Model is the basis for the hypotheses that we need to validate in order to determine the business potential for the idea of PickUsUp. The most important topics to be analysed are the Value Proposition, the Customer Segments and the Revenue Streams. In addition, we also determined some hypotheses to be tested from the topics of Channels, Key activities and Partners. All of these hypotheses can be read under Validation on the homepage. After defining the various hypotheses, we categorized them in a matrix according to their impact on the success of the business as well as to the probability of their invalidity. All the hypotheses that fall in a pre-specified test-area should be given special attention as their results are crucial for the success of the business. This matrix can also be looked at in the validation area. Apart from issues dealing with our business model, we discussed what features the mobility device used for our drivers should have (bike or electric, foldable or attached to the car). We also came up with the first draft for a logo which will be further improved. In order to document our process, this blog was set up!
